Natural Canvas

This canvas is natural but not made of any cloth. Nor is the Artist any ordinary artist.

When I left work this afternoon I could tell the sky was worth watching. Big thunderstorms, bands of rain. Both of which we’ve had most of the summer.

After most of rain had passed, we decided to do some driving around and pretty soon it started lightly raining and a beautiful rainbow showed up!

Got over to Lake Grace and it had nearly disappeared but we waited for the sun to come back out and were blessed with the rainbow again.

At the swampy end of the lake, there are some young cypress trees and a few varieties of birds love to congregate here in the evenings.

This is the first time that I remember seeing these beautiful blooms on the water plants. I’m not sure what they’re called. This scene was nearly unreal tonight. The birds chattering to each other and the beautiful sky. My sister mentioned that we should be seeing a hippo or something. It really felt like a distant land in some exotic place.

Anyone know what kind of flower/plant that is?

The sky continued to be amazing until the sun went to bed for the night.

I say it’s obvious our Creator loves color! I believe He delights in showing us glimpses of his extravagant beauty through his canvas, our skies!

Here is an unedited video of the scene. 🙂

How does one know if they’ve ever heard it before? 🙂 As far as I know it’s original. The rainbow was very brilliant all over the county.

Sadie, I wish we could send you some rain!! I’m hoping by now things are looking better. Did y’all get snow or rain as predicted?
