Feeling Neighborly – Wednesday September 9, 2009

It’s a beautiful day in this neighborhood,
A beautiful day for a neighbor,
Would you be mine?
Could you be mine?

It’s a neighborly day in this beautywood,
A neighborly day for a beauty,
Would you be mine?
Could you be mine?

I have always wanted to have a neighbor just like you,
I’ve always wanted to live in a neighborhood with you.

So let’s make the most of this beautiful day,
Since we’re together, we might as well say,
Would you be mine?
Could you be mine?
Won’t you be my neighbor?

neighbor 3.jpg

Won’t you please,
Won’t you please,
Please won’t you be my neighbor?

No, please don’t hop away!! I promise frog legs are never on our menu!

Don’t let the door hit you on the way out.

  1. This was IN your house?? Or AT your house?? I saw one on the back deck the other day and it scared the daylights out of me as it almost jumped into my skirts… “_

  2. Marilow, your sense of humor continues to entertain me! =) I sing this song (the parts that I can remember) to my kids sometimes and at their age, they get somewhat preturbed at me. HA!  Good old Mr.Rogers! (You know, if you would somehow frame this, I do believe you would sell it!)

  3. @weswife – I think most kids like predictability and repetition, both which were strong on his show. 🙂 The kids I used to babysit (years ago) loved him.

@lifeisadance – No, the poor thing was out in one of our storage rooms. He probably left terrified of the big black object in his face!! 🙂

@gokum – The song comes from an old TV show Mister Rogers Neighborhood. The kids I used to babysit loved him. He (Mr. Rogers) just passed away several years ago and is iconic in children’s entertainment.
